François Walter is a historian and professor at the University of Geneva, and is the author of "Les tentations de la chair - Virginité et chasteté du 16ème au 21ème siècle" (Editions Payot, 2020, written with Alain Cabantous), which deciphers the history of sexuality through the lens of chastity and virginity, two terms that often lead to confusion.
