Health restrictions not yet lifted despite drop in new Covid-19 cases

According to Samia Hurst, vice-president of the Confederation's Scientific Task Force, the health situation in Switzerland is paradoxical: "The number of cases is falling, and so is the number of people hospitalized. Our colleagues in the hospitals are managing to resume some of the operations that had to wait. All this is extremely gratifying, and the fruit of all our efforts," says the bio-ethicist with satisfaction. "At the same time, the situation remains very difficult. The number of people falling ill with one of the new variants, which are more contagious, is increasing. This rise is even quite rapid"
