Glaciologists are categorical. By 2100, Switzerland's glaciers will have dwindled to nothing. If greenhouse gas emissions continue to rise, there will be between 0 and 11 glaciers left in Switzerland out of the current 1,400.

Natural events are putting Alpine regions to the test, but how can they be dealt with? Hundreds of projects are underway in Switzerland.
