Focus on Covid's so-called immune debt

We're looking into the merits of an idea circulating in the wake of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, that of an immune debt. Would the population today be less prepared to defend itself against viruses as a result of not having fallen ill for two years due to the barriers put in place against Covid-19?
