Discovery of an Earth-sized exoplanet

An international team, including astronomers from the University of Geneva, have identified an Earth-sized planet orbiting an ultra-cold red dwarf. This find, named SPECULOOS 3b, could hold crucial answers about the possibility of life in the Universe. The observation was made thanks to the SPECULOOS project, an acronym for Search for Planets EClipsing ULtra-cOOl Stars.
