Antimony, the forgotten catalyst

Synthetic chemistry involves assembling new molecules to make, for example, drugs. An essential ingredient in this assembly is the chemical catalyst. Scientists from Geneva have demonstrated in the journal Angewandte Chemie the catalytic potential of a chemical element that has been forgotten since ancient Egypt: antimony.
