What's left of pacifism?

Sixty-one conflicts in 36 countries. A number of victims not seen since the end of the Cold War. The latest report from the Oslo Peace Research Institute is unequivocal: the number of armed conflicts is at its highest since the end of the Second World War. Many governments are rearming or increasing their military budgets. In Switzerland, the Federal Council and Parliament want to double the army budget by 2032. In this context, where are the pacifists who demonstrated en masse in 2003 against the war in Iraq, for example? How do we define pacifism today? When should it be advocated?
