Protecting the oceans: what ambitions for the UN Conference?

The international community has set a goal of protecting at least 30% of the high seas by 2030 ("30x30" target). Only 8.36% of the oceans are protected to date, and at the current rate, this target will not be reached before 2107, according to Greenpeace.
