Big companies sometimes slide into illegality. We remember the VW scandal and its diesel engines rigged to appear less polluting than they actually were. Just one example among many. How can we explain why a priori reasonable employees or bosses tip over into illegality? What are the mechanisms that can explain these ethical drifts? Is it possible to prevent them?
