Live from Dakar: when sport becomes a lever for health

Third day live from Dakar for Impact Spark, a Swiss-Senegalese program combining sport and youth health on the sidelines of the 2026 Youth Olympic Games. On the site of the École nationale de développement sanitaire et social, classes of teenagers take part in a series of sports activities and prevention sessions.
Two themes at the heart of the day's workshops. With gynecologist Lamanatou Sembene, an intimacy and health workshop tackles sexually transmitted infections, HPV and vaccination, a major issue in reducing mortality from cervical cancer. Alongside, Pierre-Alex Crisinel, head of the pediatric infectiology and vaccinology unit at CHUV, and Guillaye Diagne, a pneumologist and emergency doctor in Dakar, talk about malaria, protective gestures and access to prophylaxis, before a volleyball exercise devised to anchor the messages with young people.
