The forgotten treasures of Arabic medicine: ancient remedies for todayʹs challenges

Between the 9th and 13th centuries, the Arab-Muslim world was a major center of medical knowledge, translating and enriching Greek, Persian and Indian heritages. An ARTE documentary follows researchers as they attempt to reconstruct a remedy devised by the Persian physician Avicenna, to assess its potential in the face of current challenges such as antibiotic resistance.
