Often mistaken for simple reflux, eosinophilic esophagitis remains largely under-diagnosed, despite the fact that it has been on the increase over the last thirty years. This chronic inflammation of the esophagus affects around one person in a thousand and causes swallowing disorders, sometimes to the point of food blockage, with a major impact on quality of life.
