Covid, herpes, HIV: when viral infections also affect the brain

A team from UNIGE and HUG has reviewed 931 studies on the effects of viral infections such as Covid-19, HIV, herpes and certain hepatitises on cognitive function. Their analysis shows that these infections can be accompanied by impaired memory, attention and concentration, against a backdrop of persistent inflammation of the immune system.
