Christian Bochet, chemistry as an infinite playground

Chemistry is in the spotlight today with Christian Bochet, full professor of organic chemistry at the University of Fribourg, where he has been teaching and conducting research for the past twenty years. Trained in Geneva and then at Stanford, he explores the intimate mechanisms of matter, from the reactivity of molecules to the nature of chemical bonds, via catalysis and photochemistry. His path has taken him from inorganic to organic chemistry, a field he loves for its almost infinite richness and for the creativity it demands.
