Among bumblebees, good humor is contagious

Bumblebees may be able to transmit a positive emotional state to each other. Published in October in Science, a study shows that when a bumblebee observes another "optimistic" one, it in turn adopts a more positive reading of uncertain situations. A discovery that overturns our vision of the inner life of insects and rekindles the debate on animal emotions.
